Student Evaluations

I have taught ten sections during my Ph.D., and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My median rating for explaining material clearly was 4.9 out of 5.0, and met or exceeded both the school and university-wide medians in all ten sections I taught. Full teaching evaluations are available upon request.

Eric Parolin is by far the best instructor I have ever had. He was both incredibly helpful inside and outside of class, and he was even willing to meet with students to go over practice interview questions, resume help, and discuss economics topics. Eric is incredibly gifted at explaining complex material easily, and he made an otherwise confusing class clear. Eric’s discussion sections were always the highlight of my week, because he was able to present material in a way that was engaging, exciting, and required critical thinking.

- Introduction to Macroeconomics, Winter 2022

He not only explained the material in a way that could easily be understood, but he elaborated on why it mattered in the real world. Eric always encouraged us to answer the questions, instead of giving us the answers … I enjoyed having him as an instructor and think it made me extremely more interested in economics.

- Introduction to Macroeconomics, Winter 2022

Eric is a great GSI who goes above and beyond to assist his students. The discussion sections reinforce the concepts that we learn in the lectures.

- Behavioral and Experimental Economics, Fall 2022

Eric was super communicative through email and very empathetic and understanding throughout the entire semester. I am beyond grateful for my experience with Eric.
